MegaFutures@MegaFest awards prize monies to students in Grades 6 -12 with original business or product ideas, to help students launch or further develop their concepts. Judging will be based on:

  • Originality (20%) – How fresh, new and original is your concept?
  • Interest (20%) – How much will people want your product or service?
  • Research (20%) – How much study did you put into your concept?
  • Effectiveness (20%) – How successful is your product or service at producing the desired result?
  • Benefit (10%) – How much does your concept benefit society or provide a needed product or service?
  • Vision (10%) – How much will your concept empower yourself, your family and/or your community?

Official Rules:

  • MegaFutures@MegaFest is a contest for children in Grades 6 – 12 awarding prizes for original business concepts.
  • Submission indicates full acceptance of the Official Rules.
  • Students must be in Grades 6 – 12 as of May 1, 2017, and may be in public, private or home school.
  • Project entries or ideas must be the original work of the student applicant(s).
  • All applications must be complete and submitted by June 12, 2017.
  • Applicants attest that the information is true and that ideas submitted are their own original concepts.
  • Each student applicant and an adult must register and attend MegaFest 2017 in Dallas, Texas.
  • Prizes will be awarded to students in Grades 6 – 8, and Grades 9 – 12.
  • After an evaluation for completeness, Judges will select five (5) finalists and alternates from Grades 6 – 8, and five (5) finalists and alternates from Grades 9 – 12 for in-person presentation before the Judges at MegaFest in Dallas, Texas during June 29 – July 1.
  • Each finalist will have no more than three (3) minutes to make an oral presentation of his/her idea to the Judges. The Judges will have one (1) minute for questions.
  • Judges will evaluate each presentation on six criteria:  Originality, Interest, Research, Benefit, Vision, and Effectiveness.
  • Judges will award one overall winner for Grades 6 – 8, and one overall winner for Grades 9 – 12. Judges also will have four discretionary prizes to award.
  • The decision of the Judges is final.
  • Winners are responsible for all taxes.
  • The contest cannot provide confidentiality of ideas or concepts that are entered in the contest.
  • Employees and family members of T.D. Jakes Ministries and its agents are not eligible to enter.
